Susan R. Green has been practicing law since 1983 when she first founded The Law Office of Susan R. Green, P.C., operating as Hardball Law. This full-service general practice law firm offers a comprehensive personal injury practice, helping serious injury victims across a wide range of accidents and injuries. In addition, Ms. Green excels in providing professional legal services in cases involving medical malpractice, workplace injuries, sexual abuse, and criminal traffic defense.

Academic and Legal Background

Ms. Green obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of Miami before going on to earn her Juris Doctor law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law. Among her academic distinctions in law school, Ms. Green received the American Jurisprudence award for achieving the top grade in her Evidence class. She additionally completed an internship at the FCC Review Board and served as Law Clerk for the Honorable Judge Edward DeWaters, Jr. while completing her legal education. Ms. Green is admitted to practice in courts throughout Maryland, Florida, and the District of Columbia, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and the Supreme Court of the United States.

An avid proponent of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), Ms. Green has been deeply involved in mediation and ADR for over 20 years. She received mediator training in Civil and Family matters from the Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers, Inc. (MICPEL) in 2001 and has a long history of supporting mediation and ADR programs in Maryland. She was the Volunteer Coordinator for Baltimore County’s Pro-Bono Mediation Program and received the Alternative Dispute Resolution Award for Mediation Coordinator of Endeavors in 2001. She served as a Pro Bono Mediator for Anne Arundel District Court from November 2000 to 2013. Additionally, Ms. Green has sat on the Maryland Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission, Central Maryland Regional Advisory Board, Baltimore County Bar Association ADR Committee, and American Bar Association ADR Committee.

Ms. Green is a member of the State Bar of Maryland, the Bar of Baltimore County, the Bar of Baltimore City, the Women’s Bar of Maryland, the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, now known as the American Association for Justice.

Commitment to Public Service

Since 2012, Ms. Green has been appointed and reappointed to the Ethics Commission for Baltimore County, except for a brief period from 2017-2019 when she resigned her appointment to accept a post as the Commissioner of the Baltimore County Liquor Board.

Her pro bono legal work includes serving as a Volunteer Attorney for CHANA, a partnership between Jewish Family Services and the House of Ruth. She has volunteered with the National Council of Jewish Women and served on the Board of Directors of the Woodbridge Homeowner’s Association.

Ms. Green is deeply invested in work related to Lyme Disease. She served for ten years as Legislative Counsel to the nonprofit National Capital Lyme Disease Organization (NatCapLyme), where she drafted legislation, educated legislators, assisted in drafting testimony, testified, lobbied, led workshops, performed speaking engagements, and conducted television and radio interviews. Additionally, she taught and counseled physicians on safeguarding their practices and lobbied successfully for patient protection legislation. Since 2009, Ms. Green has offered her legal services on a pro bono (no fee) basis for Lyme patients and physicians and has participated in educational programs for schools, camps and organizations regarding Lyme disease and associated vector-borne diseases. She has served as Vice President and President of Partners Against Lyme and Tick Associated Diseases and continues to serve on various NatCapLyme committees.

Ms. Green has been published in numerous periodicals, including the Journal of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and Baltimore Magazine. Additionally, she has had many public speaking engagements, including giving presentations to the University of Baltimore Law School Torts class and speaking at Towson University. An avid motorcycle rider, Ms. Green can often be found exploring the Maryland scenery on two wheels in her down time whenever she is not too busy advocating for the rights of the injured in Towson. Her other hobbies include travel, working out, cooking, and hiking with her dog Gais.
